Telmatophilus typhae was reported in North America from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island by Hoebeke and Wheeler (2000) ( Fig. 5). The specimens collected by Hoebeke and Wheeler (2000) were from 1995 and 1997. It is an adventive Palaearctic species known in North America only from these three provinces. The above records establish the presence of this species in Nova Scotia, and hence North America, from as early as 1986. In the Palaearctic region it is found throughout Europe and in the Russian Far East, Japan, North Korea, and China. In North America it is found on the male flowers of cattails, Typha latifolia View in CoL L. and Typha angustifolia View in CoL L. ( Typhaceae View in CoL ).
