Revised description. Shell moderately large, solid, broad, with strongly coronate conical spire; apical angle ranging around 37–43°. Protoconch not preserved. Teleoconch of up to nine whorls. Early teleoconch whorls flat-sided, with tripartite sculpture; finely beaded subsutural cord, beaded mid-whorl cord, and axially elongate, opisthocline beads on suprasutural cord abapically cut by an increasing number of intercalating spiral grooves. On the sixth spire whorl sculpture changes abruptly; the cord becomes swollen forming collar, the beads replaced by small, pointed tubercles placed at mid-collar. Whorl profile below concave, mid-whorl and suprasutural cords cut by increasing number of spiral grooves, leaving row of poorly defined tubercles above suture. Suture narrowly impressed, superficial, weakly undulating. Last whorl 55% of total height. Subsutural collar broad, coronate, with 14–16 midsized pointed tubercles placed mid-collar, subsutural ramp broad, concave, shoulder obtusely angled by tubercular shoulder cord, moderately constricted at base. Siphonal fasciole short, rounded, twisted. Sculpture of four primary spiral cords with whorl profile concave between major cords. Adapical shoulder cord also delimiting periphery, bearing numerous small rounded tubercles. Mid-whorl cord with weaker tubercles; peribasal and perifasciolar cords weaker and weakly tubercular. Whole surface covered in finely beaded secondary spirals. Aperture wide, ovate; outer lip not thickened by varix, smooth within. Anal sinus wide, moderately deep, asymmetrically U-shaped, with apex just below collar. Siphonal canal moderately short, shallowly notched at tip. Columella weakly excavated in upper third, weakly twisted below, smooth. Columellar and parietal callus thickened, sharply delimited, forming relatively broad callus rim.

Discussion. This species was treated as subspecies of Granulatocincta granulatocincta (Münster in Goldfuss, 1841) by all authors since Boettger (1902), but differs from that species in its longer siphonal canal, narrower aperture, the abrupt change of sculpture on the spire whorls and the concave whorl profile. In addition, it lacks a central cord of more prominent granules on later teleoconch whorls. Bałuk (2003) confused this species with ‘ Clavatula’ veronicae ( Hoernes & Auinger, 1891) , which differs in its more slender shape, the much longer siphonal canal and the reduced nodes on the spiral sculpture.

Paleoenvironment. Probably middle to outer neritic environments based on the occurrences at Korytnica ( Poland) ( Bałuk & Radwański 1977).

Distribution in Central Paratethys. Badenian (middle Miocene): Korytnica Basin: Korytnica ( Poland) ( Bałuk 2003); Vienna Basin: Möllersdorf ( Austria) ( Hoernes & Auinger 1891), Mikulov (the Czech Republic) ( Švagrovský 1958); Pannonian Basin: Szob ( Hungary) ( Csepreghy-Meznerics 1953); Făget Basin: Coşteiu de Sus, Lăpugiu de Sus ( Romania) ( Boettger 1906); Dacian Basin: Opanec, Bivolare ( Bulgaria) ( Nikolov 1994).
