Revised description. Shell moderately large, solid, with broad conical, strongly coronate spire; apical angle ~40°, increasing to ~50° during ontogeny. Protoconch paucispiral of 1.5 strongly convex, smooth whorls. Teleoconch of up to ten whorls. Early teleoconch whorls with finely beaded subsutural cord, concave mid-portion with opisthocline axial riblets that end in a large, swollen bead at the adapical suture. On fourth spire whorl sculpture changes; subsutural cord becomes broad collar with sharp spines developed mid-collar, mid-portion wide, concave, suprasutural tubercles almost completely obscured by succeeding whorl. Delicate spiral threads cover entire surface. Suture superficial, linear. Last whorl 66% of total height, strongly inflated mid-whorl; subsutural collar poorly defined, bearing 10–14 mid-size, sharp spines, subsutural collar concave, delimited by row of low, wide-spaced open spines, peribasal cord narrow, also with small, closed spines, perifasciolar cord vaguely spinose; entire surface covered in fine, irregular, wavy spiral threads. Aperture moderately wide, pyriform; outer lip not thickened, smooth within; anal sinus moderately wide and deep, asymmetrically U-shaped, with apex below collar; siphonal canal long, narrow, straight, slightly deflected in dorsal direction, shallowly notched at tip. Columella strongly excavated in upper half, weakly twisted below, smooth. Columellar callus weakly thickened and delimited, forming broad rim; parietal callus thin, adherent.

Discussion. See ‘ Clavatula ’ jarzynkae nov. nom. for discussion.

Paleoenvironment. The occurrences in the Baden Formation (Baden, Bad Vöslau) suggest middle to outer neritic environments with up to 210 m water depth ( Kranner et al. 2021). The occurrence at Letkés ( Hungary). in contrast, points to inner neritic environments in the vicinity of corals ( Kovács & Vicián 2013).

Distribution in Central Paratethys.
