≡ Chromophysomonas trioralis f. cuspidata (Balonov) Preisig & D.J. Hibberd
Vologda region ( Balonov 1978a, 1980b); Sheksna Reservoir, Bolshezemelskaya tundra ( Balonov 1978a); Krasnoyarsk Territory ( Balonov & Kuzmina 1986 as C. trioralis f. cuspidata, Bessudova et al. 2018b ); Magadan Region ( Kuzmin et al. 1989 as C. trioralis f. cuspidata ); Lake Baikal ( Vorobyova et al. 1992, Bessudova et al. 2017); Boguchany Reservoir ( Bessudova & Likhoshway 2017); Republic of Buryatia ( Bessudova et al. 2018a,c); Republic of Yakutia ( Bessudova et al. 2019, 2021, 2022b, 2023a); Irkutsk Region ( Bessudova et al. 2023f).
Remark. Spiniferomonas trioralis f. cuspidata differs from Spiniferomonas trioralis f. trioralis in having three times longer (up to 12.3 µm) spine-scales. The spine length is an important taxonomic feature in Paraphysomonas ( Scoble & Cavalier-Smith 2014) . Thus, the raising of this form to a species rank is justified.
