Diplocladus compactus Gerstmeier & Weiss , n. sp.

Length: 18.4mm (1 specimen).
Head: Black; coarsely wrinkled.
Antennae: Dark brown to black, not reaching base of pronotum when laid alongside; A3 only slightly triangular.
Pronotum: Red, more than one half of the apex (anterior margin to transverse depression) black; dilated anteriorly, slightly constricted towards base; anterior margin bent upwards in the middle; the black part of apex with tubercles and fine, dense wrinkles, the remainder coarsely wrinkled; length:width ratio 1.57:1. Scutellum: Black.
Elytra: Black; each elytron with a yellow lateral spot in the basal third and a yellowish transverse fascia beyond middle spanning from lateral to sutural margins; diameter of punctures smaller than interstices, punctures within fascia small and sparsely distributed, irregularly punctate behind fasciae; length:width ratio 2.21:1.
Legs: Dark reddish brown to dark brown.
Lower surface: Head and thorax red-brown, abdomen black-brown. Vestiture: With whitish hairs.
Distribution: Central African Republic.
Etymology: Named after its compact, stout body, shape.
