Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. (S.) hirticlavata sp. nov. in the face mostly yellow, black near lower margin, but can be distinguished from the latter by having the first flagellomere yellow on basal 2/3, black on distal 1/3 ( Fig. 10B); the facial carina present; the pregonite small, with 7 or 8 sensilla, lacking long pubescence distally ( Fig. 45B, C); the aedeagus with 1 pair of sclerotized and 1 pair of membranous lobe-shaped processes ( Fig. 45B, C).
Description. Male: Clypeus and palpus yellow. Mesonotum and scutellum yellow ( Fig. 10A). Katepisternum yellowish ( Fig. 10B). Halter mostly grey ( Fig. 10B). Fore femur with 3 strong setae on distal part of posteroventral surface. Abdominal tergites yellow ( Fig. 10A, B); sternites yellow, about 2 times as wide as long. Male terminalia ( Fig. 45): Epandrium with 11 setae on dorsal to posterior portions per side ( Fig. 45A). Surstylus with some setulae near distal margin, lacking pubescence ( Fig. 45A). Cercus with much pubescence ( Fig. 45A). Hypandrium slightly expanded anteromedially ( Fig. 45B, C). Aedeagal sheath acute apically, with 1 pair of acute processes subapically ( Fig. 45D, E). Subepandrial sclerite broadened, slightly expanded distally ( Fig. 45F).
