Female: (n = 10) Body fusiform, 213 long, 60 wide, 65 thick; light yellow in color. Gnathosoma 20, projecting obliquely down. Prodorsal shield 57 long, 55 wide; prodorsal shield with frontal lobe and large granules; median, admedian and submedian lines absent. Dorsal tubercles ahead of rear margin, 15 apart, scapular setae (sc) 5 projecting mediad. Sternal line absent. Coxal area with short lines; anterolateral setae on coxisternum I (1b) 7, proximal setae on coxisternum I (1a) 15, proximal setae on coxisternum II (2a) 30. Legs I 35 long, femur 9, basiventral femoral setae (bv) absent; genu 4 long, antaxial genual setae (l'') 20 long; tibia 8, paraxial tibial setae (l') 4, setae located 1/3 from dorsal base; tarsus 5 long; tarsal empodium simple, 4­rayed, tarsal solenidion knobbed. Legs II 30 long, femur 9, basiventral femoral setae (bv) absent; genu 4 long, antaxial genual setae (l'') 5 long; tibia 6; tarsus 5 long; tarsal empodium simple, 4­rayed, tarsal solenidion knobbed. Dorsal opisthosoma with 48 annuli, with elliptical microtubercles on dorsal and lateral ridges, ventrally with 87 microtuberculate rings. Setae c2 7 on ventral annulus 19; setae d 17 on ventral annulus 35; setae e 7 on ventral annulus 60; setae f 20 on 7th ventral annulus from rear. Setae h1 3 long. Female genitalia 20 long, 22 wide, coverflap with 10 longitudinal ridges, proximal setae on coxisternum III (3a) 10 long.

Male: (n = 1) 170 long, 60 wide; genitalia 5 long, 15 wide, proximal setae on coxisternum III (3a) 8 long.

Type data: Holotype, female, from Sanguisorba officinalis L. ( Rosaceae ), Wutaishan mountain, Shanxi Province, P.R. China, 26 August 2003, coll. X.­F. Xue. Paratypes, 9 females and 1 male, with the same data as holotype.

Relation to host: Vagrant on the leaf surface. No damage to the host was observed.

Etymology: The specific designation is derived from the generic name of the host plant, Sanguisorba .
