Loxocera (Loxocera) fujiana ( Wang, 1999) View in CoL , comb. nov.

( Figs 1–10 View FIGURES 1–3 View FIGURES 4–10 )

Terarista fujiana Wang, 1999: 268 View in CoL ; Wang & Yang (2003: 563, 565) (subsequent usage, redescription, lectotype designation, figure); Cui et al. (2009: 326) (listed); Liang et al. (2016: 170) (listed); Tang et al. (2021: 236) (catalogue, distribution). Lectotype (♀): China, Fujian, CAU (see discussion).

Type material examined. Lectotype (♀): “ 1991-X-7 \ 武X山 [Wuyishan] Hḿ [Guadun] \ Āffl [Wu Hong]” [hw.]; “HOLOTYPE [pr.] \ ♀ [hw.]” [red rectangle]; “CAUDb000236” [pr.] ( CAU, Figs 1–3 View FIGURES 1–3 ).

Diagnosis. Generally blackish brown; face black; antennal scape and pedicel subequal in length; apex of first flagellomere not produced beyond base of arista; arista laterally compressed and very high, arising at apex of first flagellomere and 2 times as long as latter; wing with broad, transverse, dark band at level of posterior crossvein; fore and mid leg with femur dark brown except base and apex narrowly yellowish, tibia and tarsus yellowish; hind femur and tibia generally dark brown, hind tarsus light brown; segment 8 of female with shallowly emarginated posterodorsal margin and deeply incised posteroventral margin.

Redescription. Body length 13.6 mm; wing length 8.5 mm; length of antenna 3.4 mm. Generally blackish brown, moderately shining. Frontal vitta and face black, gena slightly paler ( Figs 4, 5 View FIGURES 4–10 ); antennal scape and pedicel dark brown ( Figs 6, 7 View FIGURES 4–10 ); proboscis and palpus brown. Wing infumate, with broad, transverse, dark band at level of posterior crossvein, band more or less interrupted along center of cells r 4+5 and dm; apical margin of wing darkened between R 2+3 and M 1; wing veins yellowish brown to brown ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 4–10 ). Halter whitish yellow with base darkened. Leg dark brown; trochanter and hind tarsus light brown; base and apex of fore and mid femur, fore and mid tibia and tarsus yellowish brown. Abdomen black; segments 2–4 and terminalia of female reddish brown. Bristles on head and thorax black.

Head ( Figs 4, 5 View FIGURES 4–10 ) transverse oblong in dorsal view, largely glabrous; length along midline 0.8 times as long as width across eyes, width across eyes 1.9 times as broad as interocular space. Frons slightly protruding beyond level of anterior eye margin; frontal vitta desclerotized, dull and velvety, with deep depression at middle; frontal orbit with some scattered, erect, short hairs, middle one slightly longer than others, anterior portion near anterior margin with a narrow patch of golden tomentose. Lunule sclerotized, broadly exposed between antennal base and anterior margin of frons. Ocellar triangle broad, smooth, with silvery tomentose stripes along lateral margins. Face strongly slanting, with moderately-elevated median carina, each side with an elongate silvery tomentose patch. Parafacial narrow, with a tomentose golden patch between anterior eye margin and lunule. Gena slightly swollen; postgena covered with silvery tomentum. Occiput with a large silvery tomentose patch at middle above foramen. 1 ocellar bristle, weakly developed; postvertical, inner vertical and outer vertical bristle poorly differentiated. Antenna ( Figs 6, 7 View FIGURES 4–10 ) long and thick, with dense, decumbent, short setulae, and with setae oblique and short; scape nearly as long as pedicel, gradually widened towards apex of segment; first flagellomere about 2.3 times as long as pedicel, apex very weakly curving ventrally; arista laterally compressed and very high, arising at apex of first flagellomere, 2 times as long as first flagellomere, divided into small aristomere 1 and large aristomeres 2+3. Palpus elongate oval, with dense, decumbent, short golden setulae and scattered, long, black setae.

Thorax ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 4–10 ) robust, with dense, short, whitish yellow setulae except anepisternum (anterior half), anepimeron, katatergite, meron, scutellum and mediotergite (middle portion) glabrous; postpronotal lobe, anatergite and mediotergite (lateral portions) with fine tomentum; anepisternum (posterior half) and disc of scutellum with fine wrinkles. Scutum 1.45 times as long as wide, slightly swollen on anterior half and flattened on posterior half, with shallow rectangular depression posteriad of indistinct transverse suture. Scutellum subtriangular, slightly swollen and wider than long. 1 dorsocentral, 1 notopleural, 2 posterior supra-alar, 1 apical scutellar. Wing ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 4–10 ) with last sector of M 1 with strong curvature; apex of M 4 nearly reaching wing margin. Leg with dense, decumbent to suberect, whitish yellow setulae, except ventral surface of fore and mid femur largely glabrous; femur subfusiform, slightly compressed laterally, hind femur with a subapical patch of microtomentum on ventral surface; tibia gradually widened towards apex of segment, fore and mid tibia straight, hind tibia finely curved.

Abdomen elongate, with dense, decumbent, short, whitish yellow and black setae; syntergite 1+2 with several long hair-like setae laterally.

Female terminalia ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 4–10 ) strongly sclerotized and laterally compressed. Basal half of tergite 7 with some shallow, widely separated transverse wrinkles; sternite 7 keeled along midline. Segment 8 coriaceous and longitudinally striate, posterodorsal margin shallowly emarginate, posterolateral margin forming acute angular protrusion, posteroventral margin with deep linear incision. Tergite and sternite 10 and cerci with scattered tiny setulae; lateral parts of tergite and sternite 10 and posterior margin of cerci with rows of long setae; cerci relatively broad.

Male unknown.

Distribution. China: Fujian (Wuyishan) ( Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 ).
