Figs 1–2 View FIGURES 1 – 4 , 18–20 View FIGURES 18 – 24
Langbiana albomaculata Bosmans & Hillyard, 1990: 154 , figs 39-43; description of male and female.
Types: 13, 1♀, examined, INDONESIA, Sulawesi Utara, Tengkoko Batuangis, costal forest litter, November, 1985, leg. P. Hillyard [NHML, BM 1989.6.5.2, 3]. NB: Original label citing species name as Langbiana albovittata .
New material: 1♀, INDONESIA, Borneo, East Kalimantan Province, Berua District, near Kampung Suaran, ca. 40 km south of Tanjungredeb (1º59'42''S, 117º36'03''E), 50 m, primary forest on limestone, 1.x.2008, leg. P.J. Schwendinger [ MHNG, IND- 08/11].
Remarks: Mallinella albomaculata can be easily recognized by the dorsal pattern of the opisthosoma ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ) with four pairs of pale spots running longitudinally (both the anterior pairs are slightly wider and the spots are further apart than in the posterior ones), followed by transverse posterior median chevrons, basolaterally with an oblique row of three pale spots on each flank, by the bicoloured legs of which the coxa, trochanter and the proximal half of the femur are whitish ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ). Females are characterized by ( Figs 2 View FIGURES 1 – 4 , 18– 20 View FIGURES 18 – 24 ): 1) the deep anterior-median incision on the V-shaped median plate of the epigyne, the epigyne distinctly wider anteriorly, its posterior margin being approximately 0.5 times shorter than the anterior one, the blunt lateral lobes of the epigyne extending inwards, and the short, triangular IDs carrying spermathecae with elevated small median mound ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 18 – 24 ).
Natural history: The specimen examined was collected by sifting decomposing leaf and organic litter in primary evergreen forests at the foot of limestone hills.
Distribution: Sulawesi and Borneo (new record), Indonesia ( Fig. 51 View FIGURE 51 ).
