Genus Brooklynella Lom & Nigrelli, 1970
Although the type species Brooklynella hostilis has been characterized in detail ( Lom & Nigrelli 1970), the genus, in our opinion, has not been clearly circumscribed. Based on the data available, an improved definition of the genus is here supplied.
Improved diagnosis for Brooklynella : Hartmannulidae with a definitive podite, of which the base is located at posterior ventral portion of cell, but not surrounded by somatic kineties; postoral and left kineties considerably shorter than right kineties, terminate at about the same level of postequator rather than progressively posteriorly shortened.
