Diagnosis. This species has a broad, shiny frons, in addition to the distinctive genitalia with the straight, gutterlike phallus.

Description. Body 1.7–2.2 mm long. Frons brown and relatively wide; frontal width range 0.48–.58. Frontal ratio 0.82–1. Twelve large frontal setae present, including one pair of supra-antennal setae. Ventral interfrontal setae same width apart as dorsal interfrontal setae. Ocellar triangle dark brown and separated from rest of frons, with rounded posterior margin. Lateroventral part of frons with white triangular region with thin black line. Scutum yellowish-brown. Scutellum brown, short, broad, with 4 subequal setae. Pleuron yellowish-brown dorsally to whitish. Foretibia without strongly differentiated large setae, with dorsal row of several barely differentiated setae, decreasing in size apically. Midtibia with one posterodorsal seta near base, one slightly more apical anterodorsal seta present, and one anterodorsal seta at or above midlength, with setal palisade extending from base to midlength, more apically with transverse rows of fine setulae; few posterodorsal setae slightly enlarged apically. Hind tibia with several scattered medium-sized anterodorsal setae; dorsally with complete setal palisades, with row of small posterodorsal setulae closely parallel, followed more posteriorly by bare space before regular setulation. Wing large; mean costal length 0.55 wing length; range 0.53–0.57. Costal sector ratios 2.4–3.6:1. Halter knob yellowish-brown. Abdominal tergites brown. Epandrium with slightly rounded dorsal margin and asymmetrical ventral margin; length slightly greater than depth, with depth decreasing posteriorly. Large triangular process present anteroventrally; smaller triangular process present at midlength. Setae twice the length of setae on cercus present along the ventral margin of epandrium, ending at smaller triangular process midlength. Phallus medium length, approximately same as length of epandrium. No curve at base of phallus; emerges ventrally with gutter-like concavity along entire length of straight phallus. Apex of phallus slightly curved posteriorly.

Distribution. Philippines.
