( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–3 )

Myrmoplasta longipennis Blöte, 1933: 595–596 .

Type material examined. HOLOTYPE: female, Vietnam, ‘Tonkin, June 1917 ( R. V. de Salvaza)’ (coll. Natural History Museum, London) . PARATYPE: male, ‘ Laos, Xieng Khouang, 11th May , 1919 ( R. V. de Salvaza)’ (coll. Natural History Museum, London) .

Note. Blöte (1933) erroneously indicated the paratype from Laos: Xieng Khouang as female; however, it is a male with lost pygophore .

Additional material examined. Vietnam, Tien Giang Prov., Mitho , 1 female (coll. Museum national d’Histoire naturelle, Paris) .

Redescription. Colouration. Head, antennae, rostrum, callar lobe, scutellum (except roundish spot on its apex in female), hemelytra (except transversal pale stripe medially), sternum, legs (except trochanters II and III and bases of meso- and metafemora), female genitalia, mesotergites VI (except its posterior margin) and VII in female, and mesotergite VII in male, black. Ventrite VI, except its median incision (reaching almost its posterior margin), and entire ventrite VII of both sexes also black. Black colouration on posterior margin of female mesotergite VI laterally arcuately widening anteriorly up to mesotergite V. Pronotal lobe, roundish spot on scutellar apex in female, posterior pleural flange I, median transverse stripe on corium, entire mesotergites II–V and narrow arch medially on mesotergite VI of female, and entire mesotergites II–VI of male, ventrites II–V, median incision on ventrite VI (reaching almost its posterior margin), bases of mesofemora in female, trochanters II and III and bases of meso- and metafemora in male pale yellow. Median transverse stripe on each corium not reaching its inner margin, widening laterally, somewhat projected posteriorly along costal margin.

Structure. Body of female much more elongated than body of male. Frons gibbous, antennomere 3 distinctly widening towards apex, antennomere 4 stoutest, short. Callar lobe not expanded laterally, distinctly gibbous, its lateral margin narrow, uniformly rounded along its entire length. Lateral margins of pronotal lobe strongly arcuatelly gibbous (medially wider than on the base of the lobe), edge between pronotal lobe and posterior pleural flange I rounded. Scutellum narrow. Outer margin of hemelytra straight, corium widening posteriorly, both hemelytra apically accordingly truncated, straight, reaching posterior margin of mesotergite IV.

Measurements. Male (paratype). Body length 6.37 mm. Head: width (including eyes)— 1.69 mm, interocular width— 0.92 mm, length—1.00 mm; antenna: lengths of antennomeres 1—1.03 mm, 2— 1.21 mm, 3— 0.86 mm, 4— 1.30 mm; pronotum: total length— 1.27 mm, collar length— 0.11 mm, callar lobe: length— 0.76 mm, width (including margins)— 1.35 mm, pronotal lobe: length— 0.40 mm, width— 1.46 mm; scutellum: length— 0.70 mm, width— 0.70 mm; corium: length— 1.92 mm, width— 1.03 mm; abdomen: width— 2.35 mm, width between laterotergites—2.00 mm.

Female (holotype). Body length 7.34 mm. Head: width (including eyes)— 1.84 mm, interocular width— 1.08 mm, length— 1.13 mm; antenna: lengths of antennomeres 1—1.24 mm, 2— 1.32 mm, 3— 1.08 mm, 4— 1.51 mm; pronotum: total length— 1.32 mm, collar length— 0.16 mm, callar lobe: length— 0.70 mm, width (including margins)— 1.40 mm, pronotal lobe: length— 0.46 mm, width— 1.51 mm; scutellum: length— 0.86 mm, width— 0.78 mm; corium: length— 2.13 mm, width— 1.11 mm; abdomen: width— 2.51 mm, width between laterotergites— 2.27 mm.
