Myrmozercon titan ( Berlese, 1902)
Myrmonyssus titan Berlese, 1902: 171 .
Diagnosis. Body length 1320. Legs long, legs I about three quarters length of body, slightly longer than legs IV. Host: unknown.
Remarks. This species was provided with a rudimentary description by Berlese (1902), but unlike the other species he described, it received no further detailed examination. From photographs and measurements of the type specimen provided by Dr Roberto Nannelli (slide 170/5), if this is a species of Myrmozercon , then it is a member Myrmozercon sensu lato because of its large legs. Myrmozercon titan is a very large species (body length 1320) and no other species of Myrmozercon exceeds 1 mm. No more is discernible from the photographs beyond these basic features.
