Diagnosis. Slender, small, slightly depressed macropsine leafhopper resembling both V. breakeyi (Merino) and V. obtusa Hamilton , but differs from them in having either bidentate or tridentate pygofer process and a subapical ventral tooth on the dorsal sclerite of the dorsal connective ( Viraktamath 1981).

Material examined. INDIA: Uttarakhand: 7♂, Dehradun , 30016 ’58” N, 77058 ’21” E, 2.viii.2017, Hg Light, Stuti ( IARI, UASB) .

Remarks. The specimens collected show color variation. The forewing is spotted with fuscous spots in some specimens ( Figs 3 AB) and not so spotted in others ( Fig. 3C ). The pygofer also has either two or three tooth-like processes as reported in the original description ( Viraktamath 1981).
