Trophic status. Parasitoid of psyllids (Noyes 2017).
Hosts. Coccidae and Psyllidae ( Cacopsylla sp. C. pyri , Psyllopsis fraxini (Linne)) ( Trjapitzin 1989; Yasnosh & Japoshvili 1999; Noyes 2017).
Distribution. West Palearctic and Central Asia.
Diagnosis. Head green. Antenna brown, three last segments light-colored. Scutellum blue green, metathorax and metasoma dark bronze, mesosoma green. Base of mesotibia of male dark. All coxae dark; femur, tibia and tarsus yellow; metafemur darkened. Scape as long as 4 – 5 flagellar segments, clava slightly longer than segment 3, flagellar segments 1 – 4 longer than wide, 5 – 6 square, 6 slightly longer than wide. The specimens match the description published by Nikolskaya (1952) and Trjapitzin (1989).
Comments. New record for Serbia.
Psyllaephagus procerus was reared from seven jumping plant-lice, from three genera: Camarotoscena ( C. speciosa ), Cacopsylla ( C. bidens , C. pyri and C. pyrisuga ) and Psyllopsis ( Ps. discrepans , Ps. fraxinicola and Ps. repens ).
Psyllaephagus procerus has been recorded in association with Cacopsylla sp., ( Cacopsylla pyri and Psyllopsis fraxini ), as well as the oak scale Eulecanium ciliatum (Coccidae) so far (Noyes 2017). Here, Psyllaephagus procerus is recorded in association with Cacopsylla bidens , C. pyrisuga , Psyllopsis discrepans , Ps. fraxinicola and Ps. repens for the first time ( Table 2).
