Type. 1♀ (holotype), North Madagascar, Amber Mountain (Montagne d’Ambre), Les Roussettes, alt. 1,000 m, 8 xii 1958, P. Viette leg.; P.E.L. Viette det. 1988, Lecithocera rabenoroi n. sp., Holotype, ♀; genitalia: prep. P. Viette no. 5751.

Adults ( Figs. 3A, B View FIGURE 3 ). Wingspan, 12 mm. The species is superficially characterized by the forewing with distinct, yellowish-white narrow antemedian band and the antenna with distinct dark annulets. The hind wing with M 3 and CuA 1 coincident. Abdominal segments have spinose zones with sparse spines on dorsal surface ( Fig. 3F View FIGURE 3 ).

Female genitalia ( Figs. 3 View FIGURE 3 C–E): See also the line drawing given by Viette (1988, Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ). Abdominal sternite VIII deeply emarginated into U-shape medially. Apophyses anteriores about 2/5 length of apophyses posteriores. Antrum bowl-shaped. Ductus bursae as long as corpus bursae. Corpus bursae ovate, heavily wrinkled; signa consist of more than 10 strong conic spines.

Remarks. The antenna and the forewing colour pattern of the species are well in accordance with those of Parkiana , but the female genitalia are very characteristic with more than 10 strong conic spines in the corpus bursae.
