Lecithocera randimella Viette, [1957] : 219. TL: Betsileo region, Ambatofitorahana.

Type. 1♂ (holotype), Central Madagascar, Betsileo region , alt. 1600 m, road to South, at km 302, Ambatofitorahana forest, 23 iii 1965, P. Viette leg.; genitalia: prep. P. Viette no. 3288 .

Viette ([1957]) noted that this species is similar to Lecithocera pyxinodes Meyrick, 1918 and L. malacta Meyrick, 1918 , but it clearly differs from the latter by the yellowish-brown ground colour of the forewing. Abdomen ( Fig. 12E) has spinose zones with dense strong spines on segments I–VII dorsally.

Male genitalia ( Figs. 12C, D): Also a line drawing given by Viette ([1957], Fig. 6). Uncus long, slender, exceeding basal plate of gnathos. Valva deeply concave on costa; cucullus shortened, strongly upturned with round apex, more or less angled at lower corner. Juxta deeply concave on caudal margin. Aedeagus shorter than valva, with two short lows of spinules.

Distribution. Madagascar (Central region) (Viette, [1957]).
