Lyrella hennedyi (W. Smith) Stickle & D.G. Mann in Round et al. (1990: 672) ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 11–20 )

Features: Length 42–64 μm, width 26–44 μm, striae 12–18 in 10 μm.
Description: Valves broadly elliptical with rounded apices and straight raphe fissures. Hyaline lateral areas broadly lanceolate becoming narrower near the apices. Transapical striae parallel at the center and radiate at the poles.
Remarks: All observed specimens were with higher striae density, normally L. hennedyi possesses 9–11 striae in 10 μm.
Ecology and Distribution: A widely distributed marine species. Previously reported from the Gulf ( Hendey 1970,
Al-Handal 2009). Frequent in Basra corals.
