Features: Length 86–88 μm, width 12–14 μm, striae 11–12 in 10 μm.

Description: Valves lanceolate with apiculate apices. Raphe branches straight, ending centrally in simple pores. Axial area very narrow, central area very small, quadrangular. The coarse transapical striae weakly radiate throughout.

Remarks: Observed specimens showed a slightly smaller number of transapical striae.

Ecology and Distribution: This species has a limited distribution, reported originally from the Indian Ocean ( Foged 1975). Not reported previously from the Gulf. Rare in Basra corals.
