Features: Length 80–126 μm, width 23–28 μm, striae 9–11 in 10 μm.
Description: Valves lanceolate to rhombic-lanceolate with rounded apices. Raphe branches straight to slightly bent, ending centrally in simple pores. Axial area narrow, asymmetrically dilated in one direction, central area large, transapically dilated. Striae appear in transverse and oblique rows.
Ecology and Distribution: A widespread marine species. Previously reported from the Gulf ( Simonsen 1974, Al-Handal 2009, Al-Yamani & Saburova 2011). Common in Basra corals.
