References: Witkowski et al. 2000, p. 370, pl. 210, figs 28–32; Simonsen 1987, p. 457, pl. 683, figs 6–10; Krammer & Lange-Bertalot 1988, p. 126, pl. 86, figs 1–4.

Features: Length 181–210 μm, width (middle) 5–6 μm, fibulae 5–6 in 10 μm, striae very fine, hardly visible under LM.

Description: Valves slender, linear lanceolate with long rostrate to capitate apices. Fibulae broader in the middle and equally spaced.

Remarks: The long, rostrate and produced apices as well as the distinct coarse fibulae characterize this species.

Ecology and Distribution: A widely distributed species. Previously reported in the plankton of Kuwait coasts ( Al-Kandari et al. 2009). Frequent in Basra corals.
