Cheiracanthium tigbauaensis Barrion & Litsinger, 1995, p. 161 , figs 91a–f, 92a–d (description of holotype ♂ from PHILIPPINES: Panay Island GoogleMaps (10°40 ʹ 29”N, 122°22 ʹ 39”E), A.T. Barrion leg. 3.VIII.1977, paratype ♂ and ♀ from same locality, A.T. Barrion leg. 9. XI.1978; paratype ♀ from PHILIPPINES: Luzon Island (16°02 ʹ 38”N, 120°29 ʹ 08”E), J.P. Bandong leg. 18.VIII.1979). Deeleman-Reinhold 2001, p. 228 (synonymy with C. insulanum ; here rejected).
Comments
This species was originally described from Panay Island, Philippines ( Barrion and Litsinger 1995) from both sexes. The conspecificity of the two species, C. adjacensoides and C. tigbauaensis , is not at all certain. The respective suggestion by Deeleman-Reinhold (2001, p. 231) is not reasonable. In the original description of C. tigbauaensis it is indicated that ‘tegular apophysis moderately broad, squarely cut below before the tapering distal end’ ( Barrion and Litsinger 1995, p. 164, fig. 91b, c), while TA of C. adjacensoides is unmodified, rounded at the apex ( Song et al. 1990: fig 3).
