Comments

This species is known only from the male specimen collected in Kachin State, Myanmar (= Burma) ( Thorell 1887). Thorell described the cymbial spur of the palp as follows: ‘ retro curvatur, apice longo et gracili leviter sursum curvato et retro paulloque sursum directo [curved back, with a long and thin tip that curved slightly up and back again straight up]’ ( Thorell 1887, p. 63). According to this, we infer that C. spectabile is not conspecific with E. insulana . This form of cymbial spur is more typical for species of the turiae group of Cheiracanthium , which is widespread in the region ( Deeleman-Reinhold 2001).
