Description of Amphritea opalescens GJ 5111
Cells are Gramstainnegative, rod shaped, and nonflagellated. After 3 days at 15-30℃ on MA medium, colonies are circular and cream colored. The result from the API 20NE tests show positive for nitrate reduction and cytochrome oxidase; but negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, esculin hydrolysis, β galactosidase, and gelatinase. Trisodium citrate is utilized; but not D- mannose, D- mannitol, D- glucose, L- arabinose, N acetylglucosamine, D- maltose, potassium gluconate, adipic acid, malic acid, capric acid, and phenylacetic acid. Strain GJ5111 (= NIBRBAC000508953 ) was isolated from seaweed in Gwangjin Beach (37°57 ʹ 17.6 ʺ N, 128°46 ʹ 21.2 ʺ E), Yangyanggun , Gangwondo , Korea. The 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain GJ5111 have been deposited in GenBank under accession numbers OL334516 GoogleMaps .
