Genus Nimbarus View in CoL n. gen.

TYPE SPECIES. — Nimbarus pratensis n. gen., n. sp.

ETYMOLOGY. — The generic name is derived from the terra typica of the type species (Nimba Mountains). Gender masculine.

DIAGNOSIS AND AFFINITIES. — Small spider, body length c. 4 mm. This genus is distinguished by the high carapace, the structure of the chelicerae and the unusual structure of the male copulatory organ (see description of species). Since the structure of the male genitalia of Nimbarus n. gen. is peculiar and not relat- ed to other salticids but its habitus is rather typical, relationships of this genus are difficult to settle and demand further study.
