TAXONOMIC STATUS:According to Guiry & Guiry (2014) the name B. composite is currently taxonomicaly valid; however no one has recently reviewed the taxonomic status.
RECORDS IN THE GULF OF CALIFORNIA: Bahía Concepción ( Mateo-Cid et al. 1993: 51), Mazatlán (Mendoza-González et al. 1994: 68), Bahía de Banderas ( Serviere-Zaragoza et al. 1993: table2). Unpublished data: Vázquez-Borja (1999: table 1).
