TAXONOMIC STATUS: Norris (2010) and Guiry & Guiry (2014) considered this name as a taxonomic synonym of Epicladia condensata (Setchell & N. L.Gardner) J. N. Norris.

Entocladia marchantiae (Setchell & N. L. Gardner) A. B. Cribb (1995: 23) (as “ marchantii, marchantiorum ”) TAXONOMIC STATUS: Nielsen and McLachlan (1986) proposed the synonym of this name with Ulvella marchantiae (Setchell & N. L. Gardner) R. Nielsen, C. J. O’Kelly & B. Wysor , and is accepted by Guiry & Guiry (2015). However, Pedroche et al. (2005) and Norris (2010) considered the name E. marchantiae as taxonomicaly correct.

Entocladia mexicana Setchell & N.L. Gardner (1924: 719) .
TAXONOMIC STATUS: Guiry & Guiry (2014) considered this name as a taxonomic synonym of Epicladia mexicana (Setchell & N. L. Gardner) J. N. Norris. Reassessment of this species based on modern collections and comparing type collections is required.
