A. cornifolius (Boiss. & Hohen.) Alijanpoor , var. cornifolius

Syn.: Rhamnus . cornifolia Boissier & Hohenacker var. velutina Bornmüller (1905: 225) .

Description —Plant densely pubescent on branches, leaves, petioles and stipules; leaves almost ovoid to elliptic.

Habitat and distribution — IRAN, IRAQ and TURKEY.

The species grows in Markazi, Isphahan , Kurdistan, Azerbaijan and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Provinces in C & W of Iran, at an altitude of 2300–3700 m, between 32° and 35° N and between 44° and 50° E on the Southern slopes of cliffs. The distributions of this taxon tends to be restricted, due to a decrease in habitats .

Phenology —Flowering is in early April to early May, fruits and seeds maturie in early July to late August.
