Type species: Camenta rufiventris Burmeister, 1855 (by monotypy).
Remarks: Péringuey (1904) established the subgenus Pseudocamenta Péringuey (1904: 106) within the newly erected genus Oocamenta . Since Pseudocamenta included one of the two originally included species of Oocamenta ( Oocamenta [ Pseudocamenta ] transvaalia Péringuey, 1904), the type species for the nominotypical subgenus Oocamenta (Oocamenta) automatically becomes Camenta rufiventris Burmeister, 1855 because it is the only species originally placed in this subgenus. Consequently, it is also the type species of the genus Oocamenta (see ICZN 1999, Art. 68.3.1).
