Type species (here designated): Lamproserica mombasana Brenske, 1901 (the first mentioned subsequently included nominal species was chosen as the type species).

First subsequently included nominal species: The name Lamproserica was made available ( ICZN 1999, Art. 12.1) by Brenske (1897) in the key to the genera, without any nominal species included. The following species were first subsequently included in the genus by Brenske (1901b): Lamproserica mombasana Brenske, 1901 ; Lamproserica salaama Brenske, 1901 ; Lamproserica kakomae Brenske, 1901 ; and Lamproserica beccarii Brenske, 1901 .

Type material examined ( Lamproserica mombasana Brenske, 1901 ): Lectotype (here designated): ɗ "Brit. O. Afrika Taru-Mombasa F. Thomas S. / ɗ / Lamproserica mombasana Type Brsk. / Type " ( ZMHB). Paralectotype: 1 ɗ "Brit. O. Afrika Taru-Mombasa F. Thomas S." ( ZMHB).
