Host: Taricha torosa ( Amphibia: Caudata : Salamandridae ).

Site: lungs.

Distribution: southern Nearctic.

Description (after Kuzmin et al. 2003). Body elongated. Head end rounded, tail end tapered. Body length 8.405 (7.38–10.06) mm, maximum width 329 (270–385). Body cuticle swollen, the swelling prominent in both anterior and posterior regions. Oral opening oval-shaped in apical view. Two lateral pseudolabia present, each with 2 submedian inner protuberances. Buccal capsule funnel-shaped, 9 (7–10) deep and 14 (10–15) wide. Buccal capsule walls almost completely surrounded by anterior end of oesophagus. Oesophagus club-shaped, dilation of muscular region indistinct. Oesophagus width 37 (35–40) at anterior end, 47 (45–50) at middle of muscular region, 46 (42–50) at middle of glandular region; posterior bulb 70 (62–75) wide. Oesophagus length 384 (355–415), or 4.6 (4.1–5.0) % of body length. Nerve ring situated at 172 (140–190) from anterior end of oesophagus (44.8 [39.4– 48.0] % of oesophagus length). Intestine wide. Prominent constriction of posterior region of intestine observed in most specimens. Distance from anterior body end to vulva 4.60 (3.90–5.46) mm (54.7 [50.8–56.9] % of body length). Eggs numerous, 130 (120–137) × 80 (77–87) (n = 8). Tail conical, 135 (115–150) long (1.6 [1.4–1.8] % of body length). Swollen cuticle on tail covered with deep transverse folds ( Fig. 28 D, E ). Tail tip free from cuticular swelling.

Material studied: type series, 15 specimens ( USNPC) .
