REMARK
The original wild locality in Madagascar remains unknown. Newton (1994) designated improperly a lectotype ( McNeill et al. 2006: Art. 9.1) which is in fact the holotype: “the plate in the protologue with drawings of the plant”.
We consider this name to apply to a distinct species, thus called Euphorbia milii Des Moul.
