Material examined. 1♂, KABARDINO-BALKARIYA, ZAPOVEDNIK (NATURE RESERVE), H=2200 M, 18–19.VII.1989, ZAGULYAEV LEG. GEN. PREP . VS362 (ZIN).
Remarks. THE SINGLE SPECIMEN COLLECTED IN CAUCASUS IS VERY CLOSE TO Elachista triatomea (fOR ILLUSTRATIONS REfER TO TRAUGOTT-OLSEN & NIELSEN 1977: fIGS 80, 324, 325 AND KAILA 1998: fIG. 8), HOWEVER, THE fOREWING IS WITHOUT TWO BROWNISH SPOTS ( FIG. 10 View FIGURES 10 – 16 ). IN MALE GENITALIA, THE COSTA Of VALVA IS MORE CONVEX MEDIALLY AND MORE CONCAVE BEfORE CUCULLUS IN THE CAUCASIAN SPECIMEN ( FIGS 12, 16 View FIGURES 10 – 16 ). IT MAY REPRESENT AN UNDESCRIBED SPECIES, BUT THE MATERIAL AVAILABLE IS TOO LIMITED fOR A SAfE IDENTIfICATION.
