scientific name

Cystidicola lepisostei Hunter & Bangham, 1933
status

Cystidicola lepisostei Hunter & Bangham, 1933 sp. inq.

On the basis of its cephalic structures Ko & Anderson (1969) considered this species to belong to Cystidicola . The specimens were recovered from the intestinal lumen rather than the swim bladder so it is likely they were from a salmonoid fish ingested by the host. Ko & Anderson (op. cit.) regarded it as a species inquirendum. Site: intestinal lumen

Host: Lepisosteus osseus

Distribution: Ontario

Records: Hunter & Bangham 1933; Bangham & Hunter 1939
