Terra typica: Colombia (South America)
Colombia:
• 06°26′N, 72°15′W; 4,300 m asl: Arauca Department, Cordillera Oriental, Sierra Nevada del Cocuy National Park, near Laguna de la Plaza (mountain lake), moss on rock. Degma et al. (2008)
Record numbers: Peru: 1; total: 1.
Remarks: Currently endemic to Colombia, this species belongs to the Paramacrobiotus richtersi group (see: P. areolatus above and P. richtersi below).
