Type locality. Near Port Lincoln , Australia.

Notes: Blackburn (1891) named this species based on two specimens that he could not sex. We designate the single female specimen we borrowed from the BMNH as the lectotype.

Type material examined: Anabaxis inusitata . Lectotype (here designated) (BMNH): ‘ Bryaxis inusitata, Blackb. [hand] // Type [round label with red border] // Australia [red underline] Blackburn coll. B. M. 1910‒236.’.
