Material examined. FSI/ CRUST: 238, 1 male (CL 9.0 mm, CW 6.0 mm), 1 female (CL 10.0 mm, CW 8.0 mm), 19°59.4’N, 86°47.6’E, 57–59 m, on Antipathes sp. , coll. K. Silambarasan, 17 October 2019 GoogleMaps .

Distribution. South Africa, Madagascar, Amirante Island, Seychelles, Maldive Islands, Ceylon, Philippines, Japan, Australia ( Galil 1986) and India ( Trivedi et al. 2018).

Commensalism. Commonly associated with the gorgonian Antipathalia sp. ( Sakai 1980). Kathirvel (2008) recorded the species from Gorgonella sp. Our specimens were collected from Antipathes sp.

Remarks. The characteristic features of Q. coronata are in the spination of the merus of the cheliped, twospined carpus, tuberculate supraorbital angle and oblique anterolateral margins of the carapace are clear diagnostic characters of the species ( Castro et al. 2004). Our specimens agree in all respects with these characters.
