Material examined. 1 specimen, male (Fig. 58): Afghanistan: “J. Klapperich Mangul, 1250 m Bashgultal, Nuristan, 18.7.52, O - Afghan.” Identified as Cardiophorus (Platynychus) marginalis by Gurjeva in 1972 ( HNMH). Aedeagus Fig 121.
The new generic combination is justified because of Platynychus Motschulsky, 1858 is considered a junior synonym of Dicronychus Brullé, 1832 .
Distribution. Described from Hindoustan. A: PA ( Akhter et al. 2011) (under Platynychus ). New to Afghanistan.
