Diagnosis and comments

The species differs from Syn. reticulatus by the more convex and oval body ( Figs 136–138 View FIGURES 136–138 ), with more marked keels and larger punctation on elytra. The male genitalia ( Fig. 144 View FIGURES 142–144 ) is well sclerotized, with a cylindrical median lobe that is longer than the tegmen and as long as the ninth segment. The basal piece is distinct, with almost half the length of tegmen, the anterior margin broadly rounded and the posterior margin truncate. Specimens examined
