Ammophila separanda F. Morawitz, 1891 View in CoL
( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 , 9, 10 View FIGURES 8 – 10. 8 )
Ammophila separanda F. Morawitz 1891: 204 View in CoL , ♀, ♂. Lectotype, here designated: ♀, Kazakhstan: West Kazakhstan region, Ryn Peski (ZISP), examined.
Ammophila separanda: Kohl 1906b: 321 View in CoL , 375 (as a tentative variety of Ammophila campestris View in CoL ); Myartseva 1971: 77; 1972a: 86; Kazenas 1972b: 101; 1978: 37; Bohart & Menke 1976: 153 (as tentative synonym of Ammophila campestris View in CoL ); Pulawski 1978: 182; Nazarova 1998: 40; Danilov 2010: 45; Dollfuss 2013a: 394, 404, 486; 2013b: 584; Pulawski 2015.
Diagnosis. The female and male of A. separanda are most similar to A. vetuberosa Li & Yang, 1994 and A. asiatica Tsuneki, 1971 . Ammophila vetuberosa differs from A. separanda in having the forecoxa with an apical tooth. The female of A. separanda differs from A. asiatica in having a red petiole (S1) rather than a black one, and the male in having a shiny mesoscutum (mesoscutum is dull and transversely microstriate in A. asiatica ).
