Nepsalus indicus Navás 1914: 251 View in CoL (type locality: ‘Malay peninsula: Gunong Inas’ = [ Malaysia: Kedah, Kupang, Gunung Inas]; holotype in NHMUK, formerly BMNH). Banks 1929: 372 ( Neglurus ). Stange 1976: 299 ( Nepsalus View in CoL ). New 2003: 178 ( Nepsalus View in CoL ). Stange 2004: 94 ( Nepsalus View in CoL ).
Diagnosis. Vertex with a pair of indistinct transversal bands and a pair of spots. Pronotum medially with a black stripe, and laterally with a pair of slender black lines. Mesonotum with two black spots anteromedially, a wide black stripe present medially, laterally with a pair of discontinuous reverse black U-shaped markings; mesoscutellum medially with a black marking. Metanotum mostly black medially; lateral margins with a pair of dark brown markings. Legs long and slender, with black setae, and some dark brown dots. Wings nearly falcate, apex slightly pointed, veins alternating pale and brown. Pterostigma pale pink. Forewing costal space with some small brownish markings proximad pterostigma; poststigmal area generally transparent; radial area with seven brown spots close to RA; a dark brown spot present on hypostigmatic cell distally; rhegma present as a small dark brown spot; some brownish spots present on main vein of MP; posterior area with a brown spot; cubital area with a round brown marking fused with a discontinuous arcuate brown marking; three to four presectoral crossveins present; RP with 10 branches. Hindwing distal margin obviously concaved; poststigmal area with some irregular brown markings; six indistinct brown spots present close to RA, a dark brown spot present on hypostigmatic cell distally; rhegma present as a small dark brown spot. Female posterior branch of gonocoxites 8 is as long as the entire anterior branch (Stange 1976, 2004).
Type Maoerial. Holotype female, MALAYSIA: ‘ Malay peninsula: Gunong Inas’ (= Malaysia : Kedah, Kupang Town , Gunung Inas ), 30.xi.1899, Skeat ?xpedition ( NHMUK, formerly BMNH).
