Description of Oceanibaculum indicum IMCC View in CoL 12392
Cells are Gramstainingnegative, nonflagellated, pigmented and rodshaped. Colonies are circular, raised, entire and yellow colored after 3 days on MA at 15°C. Positive for nitrate reduction and β galactosidase and negative for esculin hydrolysis, arginine dihydrolase, indole production, urease and glucose fermentation in API 20NE. Utilizes Dglucose, Dmannose, Dmaltose, potassium gluconate, Larabinose, Dmannitol, N acetylglucosamine, malic acid and adipic acid. Capric acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid are not utilized. Strain IMCC12392 (= NIBRBA0000114864) has been isolated from sea water, Wando, Korea.
