Description of Paracoccus zhejiangensis BM 15
Cells are Gramstainingnegative, nonflagellated, pigmented and rodshaped. Colonies are circular, convex, entire and orange colored after 3 days of incubation on MA at 25°C. Positive for nitrate reduction, indole production, β galactosidase and esculin hydrolysis but negative for arginine dihydrolase, urease, glucose fermentation and gelatinase in API 20NE. Utilizes Dglucose, Dmannose, N acetylglucosamine and malic acid. Dmannitol, Larabinose, potassium gluconate, and Dmaltose, capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid are not utilized. Strain BM15 (= NIBR BA0000114936) has been isolated from gut of Fulvia mutica , Korea.
