Dissomphalus lumae Brito & Azevedo , sp. nov.
( Figs 1B View FIGURE 1 , 5E View FIGURE 5 )
Diagnosis. This species is easily recognized by having the dorsal margin of harpe straight and about twice longer than gonostipes, the basivolsellar protuberance very wide and delimited, the aedeagal dorsal body narrow and basal cover plate wide with posterior margin incurved.
Description. Head. Mandible with two distal teeth. Median clypeal lobe subtrapezoidal, with one angulate tooth; median clypeal carina low in profile, complete or nearly so, straight in profile or nearly so. Frons coriaceous, punctures small and dense. Vertex crest weakly incurved. Dorsal pronotal area with anterior margin coarse. Tergal process submedian, with dense tuft of setae inside of shallow depression. Posterior hypopygeal margin incurved medially. Genitalia. Harpe entirely narrow, apical margin angulate, abaxial margin not projected; gonostipes shorter than harpe, ventral margin not excavated until outer margin of basivolsella; digitus short, basidorsal corner poorly projected; basivolsella well delimited with wide protuberance, without spines; aedeagal ventral valve with apex anterior to apex of dorsal one, wide, progressively narrowing apicad; inner margin slightly sinuous; outer margin slightly sinuous, slightly curved dorsad; aedeagal dorsal valve narrow, with two pairs of apical lobe; outer lobe long, narrow, apical margin rounded and anterad; apex of inner median filament anterior to apex of lobe, directed posterad; basal cover plate entirely wide, posterior margin slightly incurved medially; apodeme extending beyond genital ring.
Material examined. Holotype, 1♂: BRAZIL, Amazonas , Manaus , Reserva Ducke, Igarapé Bolívia, 10.II.2003, arm. Malaise, J.M. G Ribeiro col. ( INPA) . Paratype: BRAZIL, Amazonas , Manaus, 1♂, Reserva Ducke, Igarapé Ipiranga, 13.I.2003, arm. Malaise, J. M. G Ribeiro & J. Vidal col. ( INPA) .
Distribution. Brazil (Amazonas).
Etymology. This species is named after the researcher Luma Nogueira de Andrade, the first transvestite to obtain a doctorate title in education.
Remarks. It is similar to D. limae sp. nov. by having the aedeagal dorsal valve narrow, the aedeagal lobes long with a small constriction in the apex, and the basal cover plate triangular. However, D. lumae sp. nov. has the harpe twice longer than gonostipes, the dorsal margin of harpe straight, and the basivolsellar protuberance wide, whereas D. limae sp. nov. has the harpe almost with the same size of gonostipes, the dorsal margin of harpe slightly incurved anteriorly, and the basivolsellar protuberance very narrow.
