We were unable to locate any type specimens of P. bicoloriceps ; the available specimens (some of which were determined by Pic) did not show any differences to P. uniformis . Formal synonymy of the two species, however, must await the discovery of type material.

Length: 8.0–10.0 mm (4 specimens measured).

Head: Head dark red brown, with dense and fine punctation, between eyes finely and diffusely punctate, with white erect hairs. Antennal base red brown, from A5 onwards black, A11 short, rounded at tip.

Thorax: Pronotum dark red brown, finely wrinkled, only behind middle with fine, diffuse punctation and whitish to yellowish hairs, length to width index 0.90:1–0.92:1; mesoventrite with fine wrinkles, sparsely vested with long, pale hairs.

Elytra: Elytra strongly glossy, dark red brown to blackish red brown; punctation in longitudinal direction very close, diameter of punctures often only one third of interstices, decreasing towards apex, length to width index 1.81:1–1.97:1; with short, yellow, posteriorly directed hairs.

Legs: Dark brown to reddish, densely vested with strong, erect, white hairs and isolated, long, brown setae. With conspicuous tibial carinae.

Abdomen: Brown to yellow, vested with short, white hairs; ventrites darkly edged, V5 and V6 yellowish; pygidium approximately trapezoid, apical margin braodly emarginate; male V6 slightly emarginate (female V6 without emargination).

Aedeagus: Compact, stout; phallobasic lobes tapering apically; spicular fork more broadly V-shaped ( Fig. 8 ).

Distribution: Congo.
