Description. ♂. Body length 15.5 mm. Flagellum with 38 flagellomeres; 1 st flagellomere 2.3 × longer than wide. Tyloids on flagellomeres 9–19, long-oval, maximally 0.7 × as long as the flagellomeres. Temple moderately and roundly narrowed behind eye. OED 1.1 × and OOD 1.2 × ocellar diameter. Malar space 0.6 × as long as width of mandibular base. Hind femur 4.2 × longer than wide. 2 nd tergite 1.3 × wider than long. Gastrocoelus strongly impressed, with longitudinal ridges. Thyridium transverse, 0.9 × as wide as the interval between thyridia.
Colour. Black. Flagellum dark brown, with ivory ring. Ivory are palps, mandible except teeth, clypeus, face, wide frontal orbit, narrow vertical orbit, wide outer orbit and gena, collar and upper margin of pronotum, tegula, subtegular ridge, two short paramedian stripes of mesoscutum, large spot of ventral mesopleuron, scutellum and postscutellum, area dentipara of propodeum and wide apical band of postpetiole. Petiole black; 2 nd to 5 th tergites reddish; 6 th and 7 th tergites brownish. Legs brown; fore and mid coxae except brown bases, all trochanters and trochantelli and dorsal spot of hind coxa ivory. Legs otherwise brown; frontal stripes of all femora and fore and mid tibiae and tarsi ivory; hind tibia externally and hind metatarsus basal 2/3 ivory. Wings hyaline; pterostigma ochreous.
Remarks. This new subspecies differs from A. rufobalteata amoena Heinrich,1968 from Myanmar by its smaller size, absence of ivory flagellar ring, and red 2 nd tergite without posterior ivory spots.
Distribution. This subspecies is only known from Sumatra.
