Material. Indonesia: SE Sulawesi, nr Sanggona, Mosquito Camp , Gn. Watuwila, Malaise trap, c 1200 m, 6 ♂♂ 13–17.x.1989, leg. J. Huisman & R. de Jong (Leiden) .
Description. ♂. Body length 16 mm.
Head. Flagellum with 43–44 flagellomeres, bristle-shaped; 1 st flagellomeres 2.7 × longer than wide. Tyloids on flagellomeres 8/9–15, long-oval, maximally 0.6× as long as their flagellomeres. Temple rather short, moderately and roundly narrowed behind eye. OED 1.1 × and OOD 1.0 × ocellar diameter. Face densely punctate, medially and laterally with longitudinal bulging (almost as in Hiorada Cameron ). Clypeus moderately convex, densely punctate, apical margin blunt, slightly rounded. Mandible with two teeth, ventral tooth smaller, not distinctly bent inwards. Malar space 0.8 × as long as width of mandibular base. Genal carina reaching mandibular base.
Mesosoma . Mesoscutum densely punctate and granulate, dull. Mesopleuron and metapleuron densely punctate, shining; speculum finely punctate; juxtacoxal carina present. Scutellum moderately elevated, slightly longer than wide, punctate, with complete lateral carina. Propodeum without apophysis, spiracle slit-shaped. Area basalis with strong median tubercle. Area superomedia heart-shaped; costula reaching at 7/10 of its length. Area dentipara long, roundly sloping apically. Area petiolaris without distinct lateral carina. Hind femur 4.0–4.1 × longer than wide. Areolet pentagonal, frontal distance between veins 2rs-m and 3rs-m 1–3 × their width. Vein 1cu-a interstitial or postfurcal by 1–2 × its width.
Metasoma. Postpetiole moderately widened, almost smooth with some fine punctures; median field not separated. 2 nd tergite 1.2 × longer than wide. Gastrocoelus distinctly impressed, with longitudinal ridges. Thyridium slightly oblique, 0.7 × as wide as the interval between thyridia. 2 nd and 3 rd tergites finely and densely punctate, dull; 2 nd tergite finely aciculate between thyridia.Apical margin of hypopygium moderately and roundly elongate, almost pointed medially.
Colour. Black with extensive ivory and reddish coloration. Flagellum black, flagellomeres 14–19 ivory dorsally. Ivory are palps, mandible except teeth, clypeus, face, gena, complete orbits except short interruption at vertex, scape and pedicel ventrally, propleuron, frontal and upper margins of pronotum, two central paramedian stripes on mesoscutum, subtegular ridge, mesosternum and ventral part of mesopleuron, fore and mid coxae and trochanters, 7 th tergite and parameres. Dorsal part of mesopleuron red, sometimes with black spot. Tegula, scutellum except black central spot, postscutellum, metapleuron and propodeum except black transverse band in basal third yellowish-red. 1 st to 4 th tergites reddish, with diffuse yellowish apical bands; 4 th tergite with black spots sub-basally and apically. 5 th and 6 th tergites black. Legs except fore and mid coxae and trochanters reddish; hind tibia apically and hind tarsus entirely blackish. Wings slightly yellowish; pterostigma reddish-brown or brown.
Remarks. The genus Celebichneumon Heinrich cannot be identified in the key of Townes et al. (1961) unequivocally since the genal carina reaches the mandibular base and not the hypostomal carina. In this key, Celebichneumon runs to Coelojoppa Cameron but has a different carination of propodeum.
Distribution. Only known from Sulawesi.
