( Figs 28A–D View FIGURE 28 )

Holotype. (♂) Indonesia: N Ceram, 20 km E Wahai, nr. Pasahari , rainforest, 25 m, 3–20.iii.1997, Mal. trap 18, C. van Achterberg & R. de Vries, RMNH´97 (Leiden).

Paratype. (♂) Indonesia: N Ceram, 11 km E Wahai , nr. PHPA-Q, coastal rainforest, 2–20.iii.1997, Mal. trap 11, C. van Achterberg & R. de Vries, RMNH´97 (Leiden) .

Description. ♂. Body length 12.0– 12.5 mm.

Head. Flagellum with 36–37 flagellomeres, bristle-shaped; 1 st flagellomere 2.6 × longer than wide. Tyloids on flagellomeres 7–20, oval, maximally 0.4× as long as their flagellomeres. Temple rather long, moderately and roundly narrowed behind eye (fig. 28B). OED 1.2 × and OOD 1.5 × ocellar diameter. Frons smooth, with few punctures dorso-laterally. Face densely punctate. Clypeus almost flat, with rather dense punctures; apical margin blunt, almost straight but slightly bulging medially (fig. 28A). Mandible with two teeth, ventral tooth much smaller and slightly bent inwards. Malar space 0.4 × as long as width of mandibular base. Genal carina reaching hypostomal carina away from mandibular base.

Mesosoma . Notaulus distinct in frontal 0.25 of mesoscutum. Mesoscutum with dense punctures, shining between punctures. Mesopleuron coarsely punctate ventrally, with finer punctures dorsally; speculum smooth. Metapleuron densely punctate dorsally, partly smooth above juxtacoxal carina. Scutellum moderately elevated, 1.2 × wider than long, with dense punctures, without lateral carina. Propodeum (fig. 28C) completely carinated, without apophysis, spiracle slit-shaped. Area basalis smooth, without median tubercle. Area superomedia heart-shaped, about as long as wide, frontal carina ± obsolete; costula reaching at 6/10 of its length. Hind femur 3.7–3.8 × longer than wide. Areolet pentagonal, frontal distance of veins 2rs-m and 3rs-m 2.0 × their width. Vein 1cu-a postfurcal by 1–3 × its width.

Metasoma. Postpetiole moderately widened; median field slightly elevated, finely aciculate; lateral field punctate. 2 nd tergite 1.1 × wider than long. Gastrocoelus distinctly impressed, almost smooth. Thyridium transverse, 0.7× as wide as the interval between thyridia (fig. 28D). 2 nd and 3 rd tergites coarsely rugose-punctate, striate medially, dull. Following tergites with superficial punctures, ± shining. Apical margin of hypopygium rounded medially.

Colour. Black. Flagellum black, reddish ventrally, flagellomeres 8/9–18/20 ivory dorsally. Ivory are palps, mandible except teeth, clypeus, face, gena, stripes on outer, frontal and vertical orbits, scape ventrally, propleuron, collar and upper margin of pronotum, subtegular ridge, two short paramedian stripes of mesoscutum, ventral mesopleuron (dorsal margin ± reddish) and mesosternum, prescutellar ridge and side of scutellum, spot in front of propodeal spiracle and posterolateral stripe of propodeum (fig. 28C). Tegula and postscutellum red. 1 st to 5 th tergites red, sometimes petiole ± blackish; postpetiole with diffuse yellowish posterolateral spot. 6 th and 7 th tergites black, apical band of 6 th tergite and median spot of 7 th tergite ivory. Legs red; fore and mid coxae and trochanters ± ivory. Wings hyaline; pterostigma blackish.

♀ unknown.

Remarks. These new ♂♂ resemble Lissosculpta silvarum Heinrich, 1934 from Sulawesi but differ by finely aciculate postpetiole, shorter area superomedia, paramedian ivory stripes of mesoscutum, and reddish instead of black 4 th and 5 th tergites. They might represent a subspecies of Lissosculpta silvarum .

Distribution. Only known from Seram.
