Distribution: Circumglobal in tropical and subtropical waters; entering estuaries and littoral lagoons and ascending river courses; genetic analyses indicate that this comprises at least 14, mainly allopatric, species (Robertson & Van Tassell 2015, Neves et al. 2020); ( Nicaragua) KP, Es and BF (Atlantic); 0–5 masl; Per, Dia, Amp. Occurrence and conservation status: Nat; LC (2019), population trend stable.
