Pristomerus mangiferus n. sp.
Figures 18 View FIGURE 18 , 26 View FIGURE 26
Etymology. The holotype male was reared from a lepidopteran host feeding on mango flowers, hence the name.
Description. Association between sexes uncertain; description based on males unless stated otherwise. Fore wing length 3.6–4.3 mm (holotype: 4.25 mm). Antenna with 26–28 (28) flagellomeres. Mesoscutum punctured on the side, strongly coriaceous on median lobe where punctures almost disappearing (less so in female). Scutellum with obvious punctures, smooth in-between. Mesopleuron with strong and rather dense punctures, smooth inbetween; below subtegular ridge smooth and with or without punctures. Metapleuron with juxacoxal carina absent or at most a short basal carina; propodeal areas smooth with strong punctures. Hind coxa coriaceous and matt, with weak punctures. Hind femur length to width ratio 3.1–3.3 (3.3) in male and 4.0– 4.2 in female, ventrally with a medium sized tooth almost as long as width of hind tibia at mid length. Hind tibia 1.25–1.55 mm. Second tergite 2.9–3.3 × longer than wide at base (2.1 in female), covered with longitudinal carinulae. Ovipositor 1.5–1.9 × as long as hind tibia.
Colouration. Antenna basally orange, remainder brown or black. Head black or dark brown. Clypeus dark brown basally with orange apex (head orange in one of the females). Mesosoma including propodeum orange. Hind femur orange to darkened red-brown, with apex yellow. Hind tibia orange-brown with base and apex broadly darkened, or entirely brown. Fore wing somewhat infuscate. Tergites 1 and 2 orange, remaining tergites orange to dark brown.
Notes. The two females on which part of the description is based are only tentatively associated with the male holotype. The females have a punctured mesoscutum with only some weakly coriaceous areas on the middle lobes, while this character is very pronounced in the males. More material is needed to decide whether this just represents a sexual dimorphism.
